This 50th anniversary commemorative clock pays homage to "Silver Snoopy Award" that OMEGA ...
The watch was awarded by NASA astronauts in 1970 in recognition of the brand's contributions to space exploration, including the Apollo 13 mission. The 42mm stainless steel case is presented with a blue nylon fabric strap, which displays the trajectory of the Apollo 13 mission in embossed lining. The silver dial features angled hour markers and hands with blue PVD coating, as well as an embossed silver Snoopy medallion on the blue subdial at 9 o'clock. On the case back with NAIAD LOCK mechanism, a view of the far side of the Moon is decorated on the sapphire crystal using microstructured metallization. An animated Snoopy in his Command and Service Module (CSM) is shown on a magic hand, which rotates when the chronograph function is used. On the back, an Earth disc rotates once per minute in sync with the watch's seconds hand. Along with black engravings on the case back in homage to Apollo 13 and OMEGA's "Silver Snoopy Award," there is also a blue ceramic [ZrO2] bezel ring with a white enamel tachymeter scale. The watch, which is not a limited edition, is powered by the OMEGA Co-Axial Master Chronometer caliber 3861 and comes in a special presentation box.

O MOSTRADOR PRATEADO

Ceramic

CERAMICS

0MEGA has unique expertise in ceramics, an inorganic material treated at high temperatures, which has been used for over 10 years. Ceramic parts are dense and possess exceptional mechanical properties. Popular with customers, ceramics are lightweight (twice as light as stainless steel), scratch-resistant, chemically inert, hypoallergenic, environmentally friendly, and non-magnetic, and come in a wide range of colors.

Sapphire crystal

SAPPHIRE CRYSTAL

0MEGA uses synthetic sapphire crystal with a scratch-resistant and anti-reflective treatment to enhance the details of its watches. Produced through the Verneuil process, which involves fusion with an oxygen/hydrogen flame, the crystal achieves a degree 9 on the Mohs hardness scale, making it virtually scratch-proof and guaranteeing excellent visibility.

Sapphire crystal

STAINLESS STEEL

Stainless steel is a classic in watchmaking: robust, with an excellent finish and great value for money. Known for its corrosion resistance and long-lasting shine after polishing, it is ideal for both everyday wear and tear and demanding conditions.

SNOOPY IN ORBIT

On the back of the case, Snoopy appears in the Service Module (CSM) as a magic pointer. When the chronograph is activated, it moves towards the Moon, decorated in sapphire crystal. An Earth disc also rotates once per minute, synchronized with the small seconds hand.

The legacy of comic books

For more than half a century, Snoopy has been the "watchdog" of NASA's safety program. He represents mission success and brings levity to critical moments. Since 1968, the Silver Snoopy Award has recognized contributions to manned space missions.

Commander Thomas Stafford touches Snoopy's nose before the Apollo 10 mission.

OMEGA received the Silver Snoopy Award in 1970 from Thomas Stafford.

“I took two OMEGA watches into space. One with the mission time and the other with Houston time.”

Lt. Gen. Thomas Stafford

PRECISION

Our attention to detail is evident in everything we do. The silver dial of our 50th anniversary commemorative watch, the "Silver Snoopy Award," is a shining example of this. With finely curved baton hands, angular hour markers, and an embossed Snoopy counter at 9 o'clock, we fulfill our mission of bringing every component to the highest level of quality. That's our rigorous approach. That's OMEG precision.
